Fifteen minutes past two in the afternoon, I sit in front of my laptop working on my Biology 12 plate: The Early Development of the Frog. The TV was on ANC, with its star: typhoon Frank.A reporter goes on saying, "... relief efforts to bring purified water to those greatly affected by the storm.."Then I remembered how numerous the frogs were in the empty lots near our home, and how I imagined them to be "clasping", as well as the flood water being a medium for external fertilization.[I know it's a little off, what with this storm causing so much tragedy, but my brain is just too weird.]So then I go on thinking, what if someone accidentaly gets flood water with the eggs in their drink?Would the egg devolop? But I realized the egg covering is made up of proteins. And proteins get turned into smaller polypeptides in the stomach by the pepsin. So yeah. The frog zygote/blastula/gastrula (depending on the stage) won't make it.***Four in the afternoon, butt on the floor, air conditioning humming, the TV was on Channel 26. Yes, for Sky Cable subscribers in my area, that's Cinema One-- the Pinoy version of HBO. I don't remember what movie I was watching, but it sure as hell made me laugh. Filipino slapstick comedy has often been a victim to much insult and stigma from.. ahem.. the so-called "elite". But today, one scene was so stupid, it made me laugh all the way to the bathroom (TMI XD)[Scenario: High school English class. Graded recitation piece was the Gettysburg address.]Teacher: Your performance should be as convincing as thisVic Sotto + Classmates: *snigger*Teacher: [with matching actions and facial expressions] Four score and seven years ago,[pause]Teacher: Our fathers brought forth on this continent[pause]Teacher: a new nation [pause]Teacher: conceived in Liberty[pause]Teacher: and dedicated to [supposedly " the proposition that all men are created equal" should've come next. But Vic Sotto interrupts subtly]Vic Sotto: MY LOVED ONETeacher: [still in a trance] My loved one.[Then the teacher goes on to smack Vic on the head.] Yes, I saw that coming. But strangely enough, it still made me burst out in guffaws.

School has been canceled. Storm is just too much. Like it'd matter to me anyway. Only got CWTS tomorrow. Since about 4AM today, electricity was cut-off. I basically had to study beside my window, and eventually, until about 5PM today, by candlelight. It's a bit annoying how most people I know wish for the storm to blot out their classes. Can't they see how many people are harmed by the storm? Two ships sank apparently, and still, they clamor for No Classes on Tuesday. (Okay, I admit, initially, I wished to have no classes on Tuesday. But then I had to conk myself on the head to remind myself of the damage typhoons cause.)Let's pray for the immediate rescue of the survivors, for the families of the victims, and the souls of those who did not make it. :(I swear. I do not relish the feeling that I despise someone. I know that God wants me to be a forgiving and understanding young woman. I know I'm not supposed to really abhor someone completely just because I do not like their personality. But my humanity fails me whenever this guy opens his mouth. He is just way too egotistic.

The first time I ever saw a left handed desk in UP was this morning--at the new NIP building at CP Garcia. Amazing. I didn't really expect that. But CS is "rich" allegedly. Dr. Sal.o.ma of NIMBB (not NIP!) was bragging the other day about the 500 M they got from the palace. Whoopdeedoo.People are getting weirder and weirder. (At least I'd like to think so.) There's the PCR song I learned of about 6 months ago. There's the PCR dance I found through The Scientist about 3 months ago. NOW, there's the Chair Conformation Song!=))Okay, sleeptimeplease.

I cannot believe classes start in less than 24 hours. I still have tons to do before I can declare myself fit for sophomore year. For one, my body clock is still pretty much screwed up. The attempt to wake up at 7:30 today failed miserably. To think, I'd have to wake up at 5:45 everyday for my 7:30 class. I have a feeling I'm gonna resent Physics class.Another? Well, I haven't really gotten around the trauma of driving a manual over a sloping road. Yes, I have done hanging several times already, but then again, the thought of my foot slipping and the car backing up for some inches and hitting the vehicle behind me, then getting a not-so-well-deserved screamfest from a crazed idiotic driver demanding money, not insurance contacts, is torturous. Not that I experienced it, Maya was the unlucky victim. And that is the only thing keeping me from driving around randomly. So yeah, I have decided to forgo the independence for a week or two for a happy sheltered-sleep-on-the-way car + driver set up.See, I realized something. About 95% of the females I know of the same age bracket that drive to school have automatics. That could be why they're already driving. Me: Oh so you drive to school regularly?A: Yeah.Me: Manual or automatic?A: Auto. Dang I'm gonna go nuts if I drive a manual. Three pedals! That's madness.Me: Hah! Automatic isn't real driving! It's bump-car driving. Fake driving! Haha!A: Well... at least I'm driving myself to school!Me: TouchDad believes in mastering manual. BlegghhWent to a prayer meeting yesterday at the Ligaya ng Panginoon Center. Almost bumped into Isabel, a UP MBBS member. Met a man who knows my dad and last saw him 20 years ago. Less than 2 years before I was born. Amazing.Ahh, a long to-do list is calling out to be ticked off.Gah I want more sock monkeys!
